Empowering Women Through Technology: A Milestone in Ayodhya
This initiative aims to assess the impact of internet-enabled smartphones and digital training services on women’s empowerment in the region.
The Centre for Social and Behaviour Change’s (CSBC) Access to Smartphone and Women Empowerment project recently achieved a significant milestone. In mid-January, the CSBC team successfully conducted a four-day training and piloting workshop for enumerators in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
This initiative aims to assess the impact of internet-enabled smartphones and digital training services on women’s empowerment in the region. The project is being implemented in partnership with SATHI-UP, with the field survey executed by NYAS Research.
After months of meticulous planning and preparation, the baseline survey officially commenced this week. Over the next month, data will be collected from 25 villages across the Ayodhya district, guided by a robust field strategy to ensure accuracy and reliability.
This milestone reflects the dedication and collaborative efforts of the entire team in organising the workshop, supervising field activities, and designing the survey instruments. These contributions have set the stage for generating valuable insights that have the potential to shape future interventions.
The outcomes of this project will further our understanding of how technology can drive women’s empowerment and create lasting social change.
