Mainak joined Ashoka in August 2023 and is pursuing his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics. He completed his under-graduate and postgraduate degrees from West Bengal State University. His domains of interest include Equilibrium and Non-Equilibrium Statistical Mechanics, Astrophysics, Biophysics and Cosmology. Beyond the world of Physics, Mainak loves reading different genres of literature, which helps him expand his intellectual horizons. He’s also into photography, capturing moments that tell stories in ways words can’t. He likes computer programming, solving problems, and making new things. Along with these, Mainak also has an interest in spirituality. Trying to understand the bigger questions of life adds a thoughtful layer to his pursuits. Always ready to learn something new, he considers every conversation as an opportunity to broaden his perspectives. Inquisitive by nature, Mainak wants to be a lifelong learner, blending the worlds of science, art, and philosophy in his quest of gaining wisdom.
