Mithun Sacheti

Mithun Sacheti is the Founder of CaratLane. Over the past 15 years, he built CaratLane into India’s leading omni-channel jewellery brand. By seamlessly integrating digital and offline channels and leveraging data-driven strategies, CaratLane set a new standard for sustainable growth in the consumer business space.

Under Mithun’s leadership, CaratLane secured a strategic partnership with Titan Company Limited. This collaboration firmly established CaratLane as India’s quintessential 21st-century jewellery brand. In 2023, Mithun exited CaratLane, selling his remaining 27% stake to Titan for ₹4,620 crore. This landmark deal became India’s largest D2C e-commerce transaction and one of the largest entrepreneurial exits in the country.

Post his CaratLane journey, Mithun has dedicated himself to enabling the next generation of entrepreneurs. He has actively pursued this mission by investing in funds as well as directly in companies, ensuring he not only provides capital but also devotes personal time to mentoring and guiding founders. Currently, Mithun is mentoring the Oro team. Founded in April 2020, Oro aims to unlock the value of gold in Indian households by connecting financial institutions with consumers, enabling affordable access to gold loans. Mithun’s investment portfolio spans a diverse range of industries, including fintech, consumer goods, apparel, energy and manufacturing.

At his core, Mithun is a jewellery nerd and an operator at heart. While his journey started with CaratLane, he continues to stay hands-on, working on several new projects across consumer and infrastructure sectors.
