Sahana is a seasoned educator holding a Master of Science in Ecology and Environment from Sikkim Manipal University, a Bachelor of Education from Annamalai University, and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Geography from Calcutta University. With over 36 years of teaching experience, she has undertaken various responsibilities throughout her career. At Assam Valley, Sahana spearheaded teacher recruitment, training, and curriculum development. She implemented innovative teaching strategies, organized outreach programs for parents, and played a pivotal role in the school’s admissions and appraisal processes. Additionally, she prioritized cross-curricular and experiential learning initiatives and provided essential feedback and training to fellow educators. In her capacity as Housemistress at The Assam Valley School, Sahana made considerable contributions to student welfare and pastoral care, discipline and development, residential life management, and mentorship within student-centric programs. Her efforts significantly enriched the holistic educational experience for students at The Assam Valley School.
In addition to her professional endeavours, Sahana enjoys travelling and conducting teacher development workshops as a freelance trainer. She has a strong interest in educational methodologies and is dedicated to student welfare. During her free time, she likes to engage in music, road trips, reading, and participating in various cultural activities.
