Sameer Thomas

Sameer Abraham Thomas is a Writing Instructor at the Undergraduate Writing Programme,
Ashoka University. He has taught courses and organized workshops on academic writing
since 2019 and has also taught courses on literature and the arts. His publications include an
essay in Writing in Academia, edited by Anannya Dasgupta and Madhura Lohokare; and
chapters in Looking Back: The 1947 Partition of India, 70 Years On, edited by Rakshanda
Jalil, Tarun Saint, Debjani Sengupta and Rethinking Education in the Context of Post-
Pandemic South Asia: Challenges and Possibilities, edited by Uma Pradhan, Karen Valentin,
Mohini Gupta. He has an MPhil in English Literature from the University of Delhi. As an
ICT instructor, he emphasizes the importance of attentive reading, playful pedagogy and the
collaborative rather than competitive nature of academic scholarship.
