Tejasvini S

Programme Anchor and Associate, Learning and Engagement, Young India Fellowship

BA, English Literature, Stella Maris College
MA, English Literature, Stella Maris College
YIF Class of 2023

Tejasvini works with the Learning and Engagement Team at the Young India Fellowship, where she primarily focuses on Mentorship and Critical Writing. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English Literature from Stella Maris College, Chennai, and aspires to mindfully contribute to academia through teaching.

Her research interests include Spatiality, Medieval Tamil literature (Sitrilakiyam), Social history of literary forms, Material culture and object studies, Indian literatures along with writings from Eelam.

Her master’s dissertation explored the construction and perception of kingship in ‘Vikrama Cholan Ula’ by Ottakuttar, examining the idea of procession and its connection to Tamil cinema and politics. Tejasvini’s most recent work is an anthro-literary reading of spaces and objects in Charlotte Gilman’s ‘The Yellow Wallpaper’.

She feels enlivened by essays and thinks them to be her most preferred and enjoyable form of literature. An avowed dosa stan, she also savours picture books for children. Despite her aversion to pun-neers, puns order her reality.

A trained volleyball player, Tejasvini is an introvert and unhappily, a person of afterthought.
