Unmilan Kalita

Growing up with an avid interest in reading vernacular literature and an ear for music, Unmilan studied Politics and History at Ramjas College, University of Delhi for his undergraduate and post-graduate degrees. Unmilan has been a theatre practitioner since his early adolescence and acted and co-directed several plays. He writes in English and Assamese and is interested in rivers, borderlands, and critical histories. Through the YIF, Unmilan envisages possibilities to approach and compliment the study of society from a non-textual entry point, with an aim to bridge text with performance and theory with praxis.
